The Committee
The Annual General Meeting is held shortly after the beginning of the school year, usually in September. It gives you the opportunity to join the committee and be involved in the running of the pre-school.
Committee meetings are friendly and informal and are held approximately every six weeks, at a time arranged to suit all members where possible. We do need new parents to come forward every year, so if you think this is something you would like to do please speak to a member of the committee or staff.
The committee consists of the chairperson, treasurer and secretary, and between 2 and 9 other elected members. There may also be a vice-chair, vice-treasurer, duty rota organiser, fundraising coordinator and shopper (to buy the tea, coffee, fruit, cleaning materials etc.).
The committee are responsible for the overall management of the pre-school and for the employment of staff. They also arrange the children’s summer outing, Sports Day and the Christmas party, as well as several fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for the pre-school. As the fees cover only the basic costs of running the pre-school these events are vital- please support them whenever you are able.
